CSIR studentship programme

The studentship programme makes funding available to selected graduates to obtain qualifications based on the research conducted at the CSIR, as part of their employment.

Eligibility

 

BSc Honours, BEng Honours, MSc or MEng graduates studying full-time at tertiary education institutions could qualify for a CSIR studentship

 

Criteria

 

  • BSc Honours, BEng Honours, MSc or MEng graduate
  • Qualification must be in line with CSIR’s scarce skill, emerging research or core research focal areas in science, engineering and technology
Studentship covers

 

Financial
  • Monthly salary
  • Registration and tuition fees for an MSc or PhD degree
  • Informal training (short-courses) through CILLA
  • Opportunity to present your work on a national and international stage
     

Non-financial

  • Mentorship
  • Working on projects that contribute to the improvement of the lives of South Africans
